Edwards Lifesciences, leaders in the science of heart valves and hemodynamic monitoring required a mobile health bus unit for travelling around the UK and Europe and asked if a bus could be converted in to a training bus environment for one of their leading edge products.
After numerous conversations, visits and designs it was decided that a new bespoke training environment should be built in to an empty, single decker service bus shell, having reviewed the list of vehicles awaiting conversion we chose RSP12 an ex BBC outside broadcast bus for the conversion.
One of the main reasons, other than it was the right size, was that it was a popular European brand of vehicle, meaning any mechanical issues could be easily resolved throughout Europe.
Having chosen the vehicle we went to work with the conversion and branding and the vehicle began touring Europe in January 2020 and is expected to continue until July 2022
The 11m MAN single decker training bus has been completely renovated including the addition of vinyl branded inside and outside. The bus, converted for Edwards Lifesciences, the global leader in the science of heart valves and hemodynamic monitoring required a bespoke interior for use across Europe and the UK.
The marketing and training bus is probably one of our “Greenest” vehicles, equipped with Leisure Batteries, 2nd Alternator, solar panels and low power LED lighting and TV’s of which there are four. Other fixtures and fittings include cupboards and worktops in the training area, a kitchen with fridges, sink and microwave and a rear seating and presentation area.
The bus will be departing the UK on 2nd January 2020 and is expected to undertake the following 18 months travelling across the EU
